TAILOR-MADE CRATE FOR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
What issues do you need to take into account for the safe transport of medical equipment?
PROJECT | 10 JULY 2021
What was the challenge
This crate was developed to transport medical products for laboratories and hospitals. Hospitals and laboratories often do not have their own lifting or hoisting equipment. Most of the time, they also do not have any logistics staff either.
Solution
“First of all, a ramp was included in the design. This ramp ensures that the fragile and valuable cargo can be lifted out of the crate easily and in an ergonomically responsible way,” says René van der Werff of Maple Group.
The removable lid of the crate simplifies loading and unloading even further. Initially, the crate was designed for filter columns. But by supplying different interiors, the crate can be easily modified for transporting other equipment at a later date. The tailor-made dunnage is easy to attach and detach.
Result
“The unique user-friendly design and high-quality materials of the crate make it possible to return it after use and use it multiple times,” explains René. “This is not only good for the environment, it also saves time and money.”
