For breakbulk cargo onboard seagoing vessels, Maple Group works, depending on the charter agreements, for one of three parties: the shipping company, its agent, or the loading/unloading terminal.
In this market too, the smooth running of a transport project depends on many factors: for example, can work start a few days earlier or later, or maybe in the evenings or weekends? Furthermore, loading may be slower than expected, the stowage plan may not be correct or the captain or surveyor may want a different plan than the one provided by the client. To meet these challenges, the Maple Group has all the flexibility and domain knowledge in house. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. That’s how we work.
Breakbulk experience since 1960
Breakbulk is increasingly becoming a market with specialist challenges. For example, we are often called upon to deliver wood and various other materials from our extensive stock. That way, we can provide urgent assistance for the repair of damaged packaging or to deliver complete packaging of cargo.
As such, the Maple Group is contracted for work onboard or at terminals. The onboard tasks include the lashing & securing and welding activities. In Rotterdam and the surrounding area, this is a specialism which is mainly offered and carried out by the Maple Group. We have the specific knowledge, materials and resources – and the experience going back to 1960. Our people are familiar with the shipping companies, they have daily communication with the terminals and surveyors and understand like no other how to manoeuvre through the complex challenges.
